Art Auction for Helvick and Dungarvan RNLI

Cian Nugent, who tragically lost his life while swimming off the West Waterford coastline.

This event is the first to launch a campaign to promote safety awareness while sea swimming – Sea Swim SmArt, and is inspired by the tragic loss of Cian Nugent, aged 21, who lost his life while swimming with friends last April, off the West Waterford coastline. It is a tribute to the RNLI for their efforts that day which brought him home, and celebrates Cian’s life, and his love of sketching and doodling from an early age.

Works from local and international artists will be on sale, including Irish expressionist artist Mick Mulcahy, Marie-Louise Martin contemporary printmaker, Brid Kenneally and Blawnin Clancy both seascape and landscape artists, Rayleen Clancy visual and glass artist, Brigid Shelly known as ‘ the cow painter’, Seamus O’ Brien, Brenda Harris and many more.

31 artworks will be presold online only from the 8th of March till the 15th of March. 

20 artworks will be available for viewing on March 15th, 16th, 18th, and 21st from 11 am – 5 pm each day or by appointment on 086 813 4597.

There will be a wide range of price points to suit every pocket, a great opportunity to pick up that special piece, and all for a good cause.

The art auction conducted by Regina Mangan and Maria Clifford on March 21 at 7 pm will be held at Joan Clancy Gallery, a symbolic location for this unique event, nestled in the coastal community of An Rinn, with panoramic views of Dungarvan Bay.
